Geiza Vargas-Vargas Joins Nelson Mullins in Charleston
Charleston, S.C. (August 23, 2016)–Geiza Vargas-Vargas has joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP as of counsel in the Charleston office where she focuses her practice on corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and finance and capital markets. She previously served as Assistant Dean of Academic Success at the Charleston School of Law where she also taught courses that included contracts, business associations, mergers and acquisitions, and international finance and capital markets.
Before joining the law school, Ms. Vargas-Vargas served as a business advisor to several investment, financial, and management firms and worked as a corporate associate practicing structured finance and mergers and acquisitions at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in New York. In her career, she has worked on more than $4 billion in deals involving mergers and acquisitions, more than $6 billion of structured finance transactions, and $2 billion of real estate transactions.
Active in her community, she serves as a guardian ad litem in Charleston and on the Language Access Task Force of the South Carolina Access to Justice Commission.
Ms. Vargas-Vargas earned her Bachelor of Arts from Wellesley College and her Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School. She is admitted in Massachusetts and New York. She is not admitted in South Carolina.
