The women attorneys from the Greenville, S.C. Nelson Mullins office recently held a women’s networking event that also benefitted local children. The group partnered with Communities in Schools of Greenville to create “Kits for Kids,” hygiene kits containing essentials such as soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, and toothpaste for distribution to children in Title I Greenville County Schools. The group along with local women business leaders from the Upstate assembled more than 100 hygiene kits during the evening. Supplies were donated by TD Bank, Advance America, Nelson Mullins’ employees, and guests who attended.
“We believe there is power in women supporting other women in our community, and we wanted an opportunity to bring together Upstate business leaders to meet each other,” said Katherine Gutierrez, a co-organizer of the event along with Nicole Cuadrado. “At the same time, we wanted a way to support children in our community through this event. We were overwhelmed with the positive response for this event, and we hope to continue the momentum by hosting future women's networking events throughout the year to continue to support each other,” she said.
