Nelson Mullins’ Brian Barnwell Elected Chair of
S.C. Ethics Commission
COLUMBIA, S.C. (July 26, 2017)–The S.C. State Ethics Commission has elected Brian M. Barnwell, a partner in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP’s Columbia office, as its new chairman.
Mr. Barnwell practices in the areas of business litigation, consumer financial services litigation, insurance coverage and defense, and construction litigation. He has handled cases in a majority of South Carolina’s 46 counties, the South Carolina Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
The Ethics Commission conducts investigations in response to complaints filed against members and candidates of the General Assembly as well as those filed against elected and appointed state and local public officials.
