Nelson Mullins Recognizes Paralegals, Assistants
for Pro Bono Work

(March 22, 2016)–Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP has recognized Miche Boles, Tammy Goodwin, Sandy Henderson, and Jeannie Riley with the 2015 W. W. Mullins Sr. Pro Bono Awards:   

Atlanta paralegal Miche Boles was recognized for her work on the Georgia Appleseed's Race, Law Enforcement and The Law project, which addresses significant concerns about the relationship between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve.  Ms. Boles created and managed a database of more than 500 stakeholders who were invited to give interviews and the 140 who gave interviews. She also participated in several stakeholder interviews, wrote the summaries of those interviews, and provided numerous attorneys requiring information about their interviewees with relevant data in advance of those interviews. 

Charlotte paralegal Jeannie Riley was recognized for assisting a client who contacted the Firm about organizing a criminal case that was going to be presented to the Innocence Project of New York.  The case dated back to the 1980s, and Ms. Riley spent hours listening to the background of the case and organizing the mass of documents provided by the client. 

Columbia real estate assistant Tammy Goodwin was recognized for her involvement in the purchase of a new nonprofit organization's building in Columbia, SC. The complex closing involved several transactions.

Greenville paralegal Sandy Henderson was recognized for supporting the legal process required to complete guardianship cases. She meets with clients to obtain all the necessary information and prepares the required court paperwork. She also assists in the Firm's Wills for Heroes events that provide free wills to first responders.
