Patrick Kartes Joins Nelson Mullins in Charlotte
Charlotte, N.C. (Mar. 14, 2016) – Patrick L. Kartes has joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP as of counsel in the Firm's Charlotte office where he practices with the Intellectual Property group. His practice focuses on patent solicitation related to mechanical technologies with additional experience in computer science. Mr. Kartes has experience in patent portfolio management; conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate investigations, including infringement and validity analysis; preparing and prosecuting patent applications (U.S. and foreign); handling inter partes review proceedings; preparing intellectual property related agreements; and conducting intellectual property due diligence investigations.
Mr. Kartes earned his Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law and his Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Washington.
