Two Nelson Mullins Attorneys Earn
Recognition for Diversity Efforts

COLUMBIA, SC (Feb. 25, 2016)–Two Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough attorneys have been recognized for their work toward promoting and achieving diversity in the legal profession.

Arthur L. Coleman, a partner in the Washington, DC office and co-founder of affiliate EducationCounsel LLC, was recognized for his contributions to the Firm’s diversity and inclusion goals.

Mr. Coleman received the Sheryl Ortmann Diversity Award for his role in helping define the Firm's diversity and inclusion mission and developing a firmwide strategic plan. He has served the Firm as Diversity Committee chair and team leader. He also serves on the board of directors of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network, as well as the Lab School of Washington.  

Established in 2009, the Sheryl Ortmann Diversity Award is bestowed annually to an attorney making significant achievements in promoting diversity in the legal profession. The award is named for the Firm's first female partner.

Christina M. Jacuzzo, a partner in the Charlotte office, was recognized for her outstanding contributions to promote the success of women in the legal profession.

Ms. Jacuzzo was recognized by the Firm with the Sara Turnipseed Women on the Go Award for mentoring and assisting women attorneys both inside and outside the Firm and providing advice and assistance in business development efforts to assist women in originating work to further their careers.

The award was established to recognize contributions by attorneys and policy advisors within the Firm who actively promote the success of women in the legal profession. It honors the late Nelson Mullins partner Sara Turnipseed and her tireless commitment to issues of gender equity and the promotion of opportunities for women in the legal profession.
