Nelson Mullins’ Healthcare Group Grows with the
Addition of Two Experienced Partners
RALEIGH (Feb. 7, 2017)–Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP continues to grow its healthcare practice with the addition of two experienced partners in its Raleigh office. Antonia A. “Toni” Peck and Erin J. Roberts join the team to work with their former partners, Robert L. Wilson Jr. and Patricia A. Markus, who joined the firm this past summer. All four joined from the same southeastern regional law firm. Ashley L. Thomas also joined the healthcare group this past fall after most recently practicing with a healthcare team in Indiana. (Ms. Thomas is not yet admitted in North Carolina.)
Ms. Peck assists healthcare providers in a variety of regulatory compliance and corporate matters, including Stark law and federal and state Anti-Kickback Statute compliance, HIPAA questions, 340B Drug Pricing Program issues, physician recruitment, medical staff issues, and antitrust concerns. Ms. Peck also counsels healthcare entities on transactional and business matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, reorganizations, management services organizations, and hospital-physician alignment strategies.
Ms. Roberts maintains an active transactional practice and has represented public and private entities in the acquisition and sale of hospitals, hospice agencies, home care agencies, and physician practices. She has represented healthcare providers in the formation and operation of Accountable Care Organizations, including Medicare Shared Savings Program ACOs, and has represented hospitals and physicians in the drafting and negotiation of all types of physician services, recruitment, and employment agreements.
“We are excited that Toni and Erin are joining our Firm and are reuniting with their former teammates Trish and Bob,” said Noah H. Huffstetler III, Raleigh office managing partner and a member of the Healthcare Team. “This group is known and respected in the healthcare and legal communities throughout the region, and they bring varied experiences to the Firm that will further enhance our services to our clients.”
