Nelson Mullins Cares

Since shortly after September 2001, Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarbrough LLP, through the United We Stand committee, has prepared and sent Nelson Mullins care packages to members of the Firm, family members, and close friends stationed in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Here are a few of their stories:

"I recently received your care package. I can’t say thank you enough for the generosity of you and all the folks at Nelson Mullins. I’m sure by now you’ve seen the media coverage of the hard times we’re experiencing in southern Helmand Province, Afghanistan; the area has been “hot," both literally and figuratively. Every package my Marines and I receive from back home  is a welcome reminder of why we do what we do.

"I have now celebrated three Independence Days in the middle of combat zones--2004 & 2006 in Iraq, and now, 2009, in Afghanistan.  Being separated from family and friends on any holiday is trying, but what gets us through each day is an underlying conviction that we are doing the right thing. Kind gifts like yours are a reminder that the people back home continue to support us.

"I have attached a photo of a young Afghan and I with one of the Nelson Mullins pens you sent—I hope it will serve as a reminder that a little bit of caring can go a long way.

Thanks again,

Kindest Regards,

SSG David J. Pasquino, who is stationed in Bagdad with the 6-2 National Police Transition Team, recently sent a photo with his logo ball cap after his Nelson Mullins care package arrived.

"My name is Daniel Jones. I'm a specialist in the U.S. Army, and I received a care package from you. Thank you so much for what you do to support us! Thanks for thinking about me here in South Baghdad."
