Grows in Columbia, South Carolina
Expanded review facility opens to meet growing client e-discovery needs
COLUMBIA, S.C. (Oct. 31) -- Nelson Mullins is pleased to announce the opening of its new Encompass electronic discovery facility in Columbia, S.C. The opening of Encompass' expanded facility in Columbia signals the Firm's dedication to satisfying the growing demands of corporate clients. Encompass' expanded review lab capacity with review facilities in Columbia, S.C., and Nashville, Tenn., brings its current document review lawyer capacity to more than 300, with flexibility to add more as needed.
“With Encompass, our Firm scales its services to meet client needs, providing defensible solutions and staying keenly focused on value,” says Jim Lehman, managing partner for the Firm.
Encompass builds upon Nelson Mullins' years of litigation and discovery counsel experience using a business model that is aligned with its corporate clients: using advanced technology first for efficient data culling and to narrow the scope of human review, providing predictable pricing using fixed fees and managing its service to high quality standards with domestic, onshore review lawyers guided by dedicated project management attorneys in cost-effective markets. The Encompass team works flexibly with technology data platforms that clients wish to use and has firsthand experience implementing cutting-edge predictive coding/technology assisted review (TAR) protocols.
Led by John Martin, a partner and experienced e-discovery litigator in the Firm's Columbia, S.C., office, and by Nelson Mullins attorneys, Encompass is a captive LPO and wholly owned division of the Firm. "Our approach is client-focused, scalable and integrated. We have helped clients save millions of dollars while reducing their electronic information risk profiles,” explains Martin. The Encompass team works collaboratively with clients and co-counsel. Nelson Mullins' clients frequently engage Encompass to handle e-discovery for cases where another firm is case counsel.
On people and values, Martin shares, "I'm very proud of our commitment to diversity: in addition to diverse, first-level review and quality oversight teams, a significant amount of our secondary spend on technology and staffing is with women and minority-owned businesses."
