Nelson Mullins' Jim Irvin Board Co-Chair

IrvinCOLUMBIA, SC (July 26, 2012) - City Year Columbia has appointed Jim Irvin, a partner in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough's Columbia office, as co-chair of its Board of Directors. He is co-chair with Marcia Benson, senior vice president for Commercial Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Mr. Irvin previously served on the Advisory Board for City Year Columbia, contributing to the development of strategic plans and increasing the organization's impact on student and school success. City Year is a national service organization founded in 1988 that unites young people of all backgrounds for a year of full-time service in high-need schools nationwide.

Mr. Irvin is also an active participant in other local nonprofit organizations. In the past, Mr. Irvin has led the Firm's United Way Campaign for the Columbia Office. Mr. Irvin participates in many other fundraising events for the United Way of the Midlands and has coordinated Firm activity in those events.
