Nelson Mullins' von Lehe
Named USC Board Vice Chair

COLUMBIA, S.C. (Aug. 7, 2012) -- The University of South Carolina Board of Trustees has elected John C. von Lehe, Jr., a partner in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough's Charleston office, as its vice chairman. He will  continue serving on the Executive Committee. Mr. von Lehe, a 1965 USC graduate and CPA and 1968 graduate from the law school, was  an adjunct professor in the business school (1971-1979).  He  has served on the board since 1998.

Mr. von Lehe practices in taxation, estate planning, and appellate law. His practice includes local, state and federal tax issues, the preparation of wills and trusts, and matters of probate. He concentrates a significant portion of his practice in matters of property tax (including fee-in-lieu of property tax), sales tax, state income tax and economic and tax incentives for new and existing businesses.

Two other Nelson Mullins attorneys currently serve on the board. Columbia partner William C. Hubbard has served on the Board of Trustees since 1986 and served as Chairman of the Board from 1996-2000. Columbia partner Thad Westbrook joined the board in 2010.
